Thanks to all of our sponsors (see list below), participants, and organizers who helped to make our Third Annual “Take Your Dog to Work Day” a huge success, raising $1,600 for the Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County! The First Weber Group Foundation matched these funds, for a total donation to HAWS of $3,200! This year’s events included “PAWS for HAWS”, various contests, a hot dog cook out, prizes, and a Pet Parade – fun was had by all!
Participating in the presentation of the $3,200 check to HAWS were (pictured above, L-R): Roxanne Platz (of First Weber Group), Lisa Neaman & Jennifer Smieja (of HAWS) and Linda Johnson (of First Weber Group). Also pictured is Berlynn, a super sweet adoptable dog who was a bit camera shy. Berlynn is looking for a forever home; if you are thinking about adopting a dog, we hope you’ll consider her – here’s her story:
Oh my, how did this happen?? My name is Berlynn and I am a 9 year old German Shepherd that is here at HAWS, which is so confusing. I am an absolute LOVE and will make someone a wonderful companion, but don’t ask me to run with you or ‘herd’ anything. I have some arthritis in my body and would really just like to sit by your side and watch TV or maybe sit out on the patio and watch my property. Much as I love people, small children might not be the best for me because they might fall on me and that would hurt. I would love some slow walks around the neighborhood, so some older kids would be great. Another dog would be fine as would cats….I just love everything…!!!
