First Weber Fond du Lac, inspired by agent Karen Jo Dobyns, has held several fundraisers called “Bags for Bags” benefitting Necessities Bags Wisconsin – the organization provides comfort/necessities bags to mastectomy patients for their recovery. With the help of fellow agents and local businesses, Karen Jo held fundraisers selling gently used purses and scarves and oh, what a difference they made!
Almost $12,000 raised in 2015
2 sales were held in 2015.
$8,545 was raised the first sale in April
The First Weber Foundation provided $3,500 to the cause
Of the latest one held in late October Karen Jo said, ” We had over 1,000 purses for sale, and over 600 scarves. The response from our community is overwhelming. We raised $3,448, bringing the annual total to just under $12,000 for the year.”
Great community effort in Fond du Lac. Very proud of this accomplishment which it appears will become an ongoing tradition: the next sale is scheduled for October 22, 2016 with purses and scarves being collected all year long at First Weber’s Fond du Lac office.
