Pride of the First Weber Foundation awards

February 23, 2016

Each year we recognize several deserving offices with “The Pride of The Foundation” award for their local fundraising efforts and for involving the First Weber Foundation  in order to receive grants or matching funds toward the events. This takes much advanced planning and these offices have done a great job.

The 2015 Pride of the Foundation winners are:

Baraboo & Reedsburg offices

Each of these offices held  Brat Frys  to raise over $6,000 for People Helping People – an organization helping supply local food pantries, in need students with school supplies and bringing bags of groceries to families during the holidays. Here is the Baraboo event and the Reedsburg event.

Middleton office

The office was involved in their annual auction for MOM,  donating and collecting items from affiliates. They then held an in-office auction to benefit MOM, Middleton Outreach Ministry.  With help from the Foundation, they raised $7,000 for the cause.

Brookfield office

The Brookfield office was involved in three fundraisers in 2015:

  • Blessings in a Backpack – provides food on the weekends for elementary school children across America who might otherwise go hungry.  Partnering with the FW Foundation, they were able to donate $2500.
  • ALS Association – This is an annual fundraising Run/Walk event for this office and this year they were joined with additional offices in the area to raise $2225.00
  • Westbrook Esperanza Trip – helping the people in the Dominican Republic with building projects and supporting a school with educational supplies.  The entire office raised money to help fund a group of people traveling to assist with the needy.  Total raised in this fundraising effort was $3975 by the office and doubled by the First Weber Foundation.

Karen Jo Dobyns of our Fond du Lac office

Karen Jo, a breast cancer survivor, organized several events to benefit “Necessities Bages Wisconsin”, which makes care kits for women who have undergone a mastectomy.  Karen’s Bags for Bags sale in the Fond du Lac area raised over $12,000 for the cause in 2015, with help from the First Weber Foundation and donations of bags from agents across the state, plus participation by local businesses.

We are very proud of these offices for their continued support of the First Weber Foundation. Together we have raised over $1.5 million since inception.
