Think spring: Tackle these home cleaning projects to refresh the home

March 30, 2017

Spring in Wisconsin is a welcome, almost joyous, season relieving us of the cold, dark days of winter.  Springtime can be quite rainy, though and it’s a great time to get busy  indoors and get your home refreshed for the start of the new season.  Spring cleaning can be a bit overwhelming, so clean the obvious and then try to work some of these tasks below in.

Clean/inspect the fireplace

Once the fireplace season is over, get it cleaned and inspected and ready for next year.

Clean your dryer vents

It is a good thing to have a set routine for such cleaning tasks as this – clogged dryer vents can become a fire hazard.

Clean the Stove/Oven

Soon, the grill will be put into more frequent use. Take a rainy day to do some power cleaning on your hardworking stove.

Clean the windows

Soon, we will be seeing lots of green buds and leaves through the windows.  Give yourself a sparkling view with clean windows.

Clean the carpets/rugs

These endure a lot over a winter. Shake them out/wash or steam clean.

Switch Bedding

Switch out the flannel sheets and down comforters, wash and re-dress the bed with more lightweight, bright colors.

Inspect your sump pump

With the spring rains, be sure your sump is in prime working condition
