Comments (0) Trackbacks (0) Madison, Wisconsin makes top ten listMadison, Wisconsin makes another top ten list: 2009 Best Cities. Kiplingers Personal Finance believes that Madison will suffer less than other cities and will have a head start when the economic recovery begins. Let's hope they are right and that Madison, Wisconsin home buying and selling starts the ball really rolling through the rest of Wisconsin too! I have heard several people say some multiple offer situations are occuring - when a seller gets more than one offer on a home at the same time. A dream come true for sellers at any time, but especially refreshing now. As for other top cities for 2009, what other cities do you think made the list? Thursday, May 21. 2009

Home Buyer protection in WisconsinGovernor Jim Doyle Signs Bill To Help Protect Home BuyersSource: WRA REALTORS Newswire, WEAU-TV (Eau Claire, WI), April 8, 2009Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has signed into law a bill that allows home buyers who believe a seller has lied to sue for fraud to recover damages. The measure reverses a state Supreme Court ruling from 2008 that said such lawsuits were not permitted. The proposal was endorsed by such groups as the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association and the state Home Inspectors Association. Bill sponsor Senator Jon Erpenbach (D-Waunakee) concedes that it is difficult to prove fraud. However, in cases where it exists, he argues that home buyers should have a legal course of action.
