This gem of a subdivision is bordered by Potter’s Forest to the west, Grange Ave to the north, & 92nd street to the east. The majority of the 85 homes were built in the 50’s and a few of the remaining lots were developed in the past few years. Most residents were attracted by the feel of country living (large heavily wooded lots, no sidewalks and no street lights) and the easy access to the I-System allowing for a 15 minute drive to Mitchell Field, Miller Park, Brookfield Square, or Mayfair Mall. The yearly neighborhood block party is being held this month, Saturday, July 10th, from 4:00pm to ? Neighbors will enjoy food, door prizes, and meeting the newcomers.
Residents enjoy the 1 mile figure eight formed by Forest Park Dr & Meadow Park Dr by walking, biking, and jogging. Some enjoy the short walk to The World Famous Boerner Botanical Gardens via a nature trail in Potter’s Forest. Other activities include observing wildlife (deer, red fox, hawks, & numerous song birds that call this neighborhood home), gardening in the summer, and cross country skiing during the winter.
