Third Quarter Milwaukee/Madison metro area median sales prices rise

77 of the 150 metropolitan areas tracked by the National Association of Realtors show modest home price increases since last year, despite a drop in the number of sales that resulted after the expiration of the tax credit.

Let’s take a look at the breakdown and consider ourselves fortunate: Milwaukee and Madison are 2 of those 77 areas which saw price increases. 

Milwaukee, Wisconsin saw a 4.9% increase in single family median home sale prices in the third quarter of 2010 versus third quarter 2009. 

Madison, Wisconsin posted an even higher gain of 6.4% during the same time frame.
