Giving back with the First Weber Foundation

Having our own foundation, The First Weber Group Foundation Inc., is a differentiating factor for First Weber Group. Few real estate companies – especially of our size – have a charitable foundation.  We’re proud to support Wisconsin communities and charities with the money that is given to the Foundation by agents who donate with each transaction, and owners and employees who donate with each paycheck.  The First Weber Foundation has raised over $500,000 since its inception in 2006.

What type of work does the First Weber Foundation support?  We focus on housing-related charities, yet also get involved in causes that are supported and championed by our agents.  We have two examples of First Weber Foundation involvement to share this week.

The First Weber Foundation Habitat for Humanity house we helped fund and build in Milwaukee was dedicated on Sunday, May 1, 2011.  Those who worked on the house found it a very rewarding experience.  While this house was located in Milwaukee, the money donated to build the house came from First Weber agents all across the state of Wisconsin through their donations into the First Weber Foundation. Pictured below with homeowners Joe and Camina Sloane and daughters is Executive Vice President Tammy Maddente, Abigail Busby, Suzanne Head, Jeff Berg and Jim Christenson.  See some additional pictures of the First Weber Group Habitat House build project.

Also in Foundation news this week is Mike Spranger of Wisconsin Rapids who spearheaded a "Bike for Honor" fundraiser to raise money for an organization called "Never Forgotten Honor Flight".  The organization honors veterans by providing an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C to visit the memorials in their honor. Last year, Mike and the First Weber Foundation raised over $10,000 for the cause which he is passionate about. Spranger was a guardian on a recent trip, paying his own way, and assisting elderly veterans with the trip.  There is a second fundraiser coming up this year and you can read more about First Weber’s Bike for Honor Flight fundaraiser at the First Weber Wisconsin real estate & Wisconsin living blogThe Wisconsin Rapids Tribune did a really nice story on the experience Wisconsin guardians had when they accompanied the veterans. We know you’ll come away feeling good after reading it.   Isn’t it nice to read good news?

Thanks for reading the First Weber Wisconsin real estate and Wisconsin living blog about the First Weber Foundation. And thanks to all the First Weber agents, employees and owners who contribute monitarily and otherwise to it.  Together we can do a lot of good!
