As we head into fall, we can look back at June, July and August for three strong months of sales in the metro Milwaukee real estate market. Sales are still not back to the level of 2009 but are far and above sales last year where statistics were affected by limited time home buyer tax credits. We are headed in the right direction.

According to Mike Ruzicka, president of the Great Milwaukee Association of Realtors, buyers have been taking advantage of big discounts in the market. Almost 63% of home sales in August were $199,999 or less.
