Metro Milwaukee real estate update for October: Sales up 24.3%

November 15, 2011

It has been a strong fall for metro Milwaukee real estate sales. In September, sales were up over 28% over the previous year and in October, home sales were up 24.3% over last October.  Granted, last fall was a weak market, but it is nice to see the rebounding that has been going on the last several months. While still not up to sales levels of 2009, home sales in the Metro Milwaukee area have exceeded 1,000 homes sold per month for the last eight months. Year to date, that puts 2011 sales MLS-wide ahead of 2010 sales by 1.4% and is just 10% off of a more normal year, 2009.

Here’s a look at year to date statistics by county. Data from the Metro Milwaukee MLS service.

County YTD sales through Oct 2009 YTD sales through Oct 2010 YTD sales through Oct 2011 YTD 2009 vs 2011 YTD 2010 vs 2011
