Dane County real estate sales up 5 months in a row

For the fifth straight month, real estate sales in Dane County are up over last year. November 2011 sales are up 30% over last November and in the South Central Wisconsin MLS area, 7 out of 8 counties reported an increase in sales over 2010.  What a strong fall for Wisconsin real estate!

New listings are down in November and the total active listing inventory is on a year over year downward trend as well.  If this continues, the lack of available homes for sale should help stabilize prices.   There are currently almost 9,000 single family homes for sale in the South Central MLS system, with most of them in the $200,000 $249,000 range.

Showing activity is substatially ahead of last year and for only the second time in 15 years, November sales exceeded October sales.

Please contact First Weber for a consultation on what it takes to sell your home in this market.  Buying and selling a home has gotten more complicated with ever changing financing rules, short sales delays, foreclosures putting downward pressure on prices and problematic appraisals  throwing a wrench into plans.  You need an experienced Wisconsin real estate professional more than ever now.  Find an agent at firstweber.com and ask them about the local market, or you can check out sold property in your area at firstweber.com to see what homes are selling for.

Sales up 5 months in a row – A great way to head into the new year!

While this remains a difficult time to sell a home and an incredible time to buy one or buy-up, strong sales this late in fall are a welcome sight and a great way to head into the new year.

Thank you for reading the First Weber Wisconsin real estate & Wisconsin living blog about the South Central Wisconsin real estate market.
