Don’t be afraid to call a Realtor on the weekend

March 21, 2013

Due to the flexible nature of a Realtor’s  job, agents can set their own schedules and have the freedom to work when and where they wish.  While being flexible, a Realtor’s job often revolves around the schedules of buyers and sellers. That means working nights and weekends when buyers and sellers are off of work.  Realtors are used to this and enjoy the freedom a real estate career lends to their lives.  Here West Bend Realtor Adrienne Killey talks about this:

I sometimes work with customers that thank me for coming out to show them a house or calling me later in the evening or on weekends. While that is nice and appreciated, it is by no means necessary. Surveys I’ve seen show that one reason why agents get into real estate is because of the flexibility in their schedule. That flexibility means that agents in general do not hold office hours. I certainly do not. Well, to be honest, I’d rather not get a phone call at midnight asking me to show a house the next day but if I were to get a call, I would answer. That’s called service and that is something that I am dedicated to providing to my customers and clients. If an agent tells you to call them anytime, they must mean it. When you do call them around dinnertime or on the weekend, please don’t feel like you are imposing. Real estate agents don’t have a weekend because we don’t work a typical Monday-Friday workweek. We show houses on Saturdays and hold homes open on Sundays. If an agent can’t talk, they will let you know. I am in this industry because I like to serve people and I enjoy the housing market. Call me anytime.
