Imagine what $7,000 can do for a local Humane Society!
The goal of First Weber’s Take Your Dog to Work Day is to raise funds for HAWS, in Waukesha. The event was held in July and featured many fun events and many pets who came to work.
With matching funds from the First Weber Foundation, the Lake Country Take your Dog to Work team was able to present a check for $7,000!
Also pictured is Walker who is up for adoption. Here is his story:
Walker is a young, lovable and loving Pit Bull Terrier. This three year old was found as a stray, just walking down the street, so that’s how he got his name! Since Walker is still just a pup, he is high energy and will benefit from training classes. He is currently working with HAWS’ Mod Squad volunteers on the basics – as you can see, he has “sit” all figured out. Walker probably shouldn’t live in a house with cats, but he may do well with a doggy sibling – especially one that can show him the ropes and that likes to play. He’ll do best in a family with teens and older, just because he is so enthusiastic and excited and HAPPY!
Thank you Lake Country (special thanks to event mastermind Roxanne Platz) and the First Weber Foundation! They were also able to donate to the Waukesha Deputy Sherriff’s K-9 unit!
