Showing the Human Side of Real Estate: First Weber agents and Homes for Heroes

April 18, 2017

The Homes for Heroes program helps community heroes such as service members, firefighters, law enforcement, health care workers and teachers with the expense of buying and selling a home. Several of our agents are involved in the program in which they assigned territories in which they are allowed to present this service to homeowners.  Each agent  agrees to offer a discount on their commission to qualifying buyers and sellers. Michael Brennan, of McFarland and First Weber’s Fitchburg office, is a 20 year veteran of the U.S. army and a 28 year veteran of the police force.  He is also the father of a fallen soldier. With this background, it is easy to see how he would want to get involved with the Homes for Heroes program.  Micahel’s territories are Fort Atkinson, Milton and Whitewater.

Through his participation, he gives back a good portion of his earned commission for those who qualify. This would work for either a home seller or home buyer.

“I wanted to find a way to give back to the community, and through the job that I do in real estate, this is the perfect program,” Brennan said.  “It allows me to give back to people that I already know, I know a lot of police officers and veterans, firefighters, and people in those groups. It’s just a really great situation.”

Cindy Ulsrud and Julia Thorstad-White are also involved with Homes for Heroes. With Julia being a disabled veteran, this program was a perfect fit for them.  Their territories are McFarland, Stoughton, Edgerton, Cambridge and Deerfield.

Nice work, agents! A great way to help those who help us.
