Wisconsin Real Estate Report – June 2020

Let’s take a look at how the Wisconsin housing market shaped up in June. The number of home sales in June 2020 was 8,401, which was a slight decrease of 4.5% compared to June 2019. Statewide listings were down 23.1% to 27,355 while the median single-family home price rose 6.7% to $222,000. Houses were on the market a little longer this June compared to last June. On average, homes are on the market for 95 days, which is 3.6% longer than June of 2019.

Home sales in June exceeded expectations according to WRA President/CEO Michael Theo. Theo states “improvements to the economy and consistent decline of mortgage rates” were a big factor in softening the blow from the COVID-19 pandemic.
