Wisconsin Real Estate Report – September 2020

October 20, 2020

Wisconsin home sales hit a new record for the month of September! The number of home sales in September 2020 was 8,892, which was a big increase of 18.1% compared to September 2019. Statewide listings were down 24.5% to 26,061 while the median single-family home price rose 17.9% to $229,900. Houses sold quicker this September compared to last September. On average, homes are on the market for 86 days, which is 2.3% less time than September of 2019.

Wisconsin’s housing market hit a record in September sales in 2020, likely a result of a record low 30-year fixed-rate mortgage of 2.89%. Inventory is still looking tight but that isn’t stopping the homes that are on the market from being sold!
