Wisconsin Real Estate Report – October 2020

November 24, 2020

Wisconsin home sales continue to look strong in October. The number of home sales in October 2020 was 9,447, which was a large increase of 24.9% compared to October 2019. Statewide listings were down 27.0% to 23,961 while the median single-family home price rose 16.3% to $227,324. Houses sold quicker this October compared to last October. On average, homes are on the market for 83 days, which is 8.8% less time than October of 2019.

WRA Chairman Steve Beers believes the high number of sales throughout the state has a lot to do with the record-low mortgage rates. According to WRA President and CEO Michael Theo, homes are not on the market long because of the strong demand pressure, which is causing buyers to move quickly.
