Wisconsin Real Estate Report – June 2021

Through the first six months of the year, we are seeing a strong market in terms of home sales. In June 2021 there were 8,655 homes sold, which is consistent with what we saw in June 2020. Statewide listings were down 19.3% to 23,442 while the median single-family home price rose 15.2% to $257,000. Homes continue to sell quicker including this last June. On average, homes are on the market for 69 days, which is 27.4% less time than June of 2020.

Inventory remains tight which has led to June sales being flat in comparison to June of last year. Lack of inventory continues to push median sale price upwards and according to Michael Theo, President & CEO, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, “affordability slipped 9.5% compared to June of last year.”
