Wisconsin Real Estate Report – October 2021

November 22, 2021

2021 is quickly coming to a close. Here’s how the real estate market is looking as we approach 2022. In October 2021 there were 8,524 homes sold, which was a decrease of 12.3% compared to October 2020. Statewide listings were down 7.2% to 23,446 while the median single-family home price rose 7.5% to $245,000. Homes continue to sell quicker including this last October. On average, homes are on the market for 68 days, which is 18.1% less time than October of 2020.

Median housing prices have grown compared to last year but at a more modest pace compared to earlier in the year, which is good for buyers. “This moderation in appreciation rates has helped to keep Wisconsin housing relatively affordable, even in a strong seller’s market” according to Michael Theo, President & CEO, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association.
