Snow Tubing, Downhill Skiing, and Snowboarding
Located in Wausau, Granit Peak takes advantage of Rib Mountain to give you the highest ski resort in Wisconsin – 700 vertical feet down! This resort also includes four exciting terrain parks, and outside firepits along the chalet.
Snow tubing at Cascade Mountain in Portage where you can enjoy a magic carpet ride to the top and glide down their 900’ chute on a tube. Cascades slopes also offer skiing and snowboarding varieties. In between runs have some hot chocolate by the outdoor firepit. There really is fun for the whole family at Cascade.
Explore the other must-visit ski hills throughout the state.

Visit the Beautiful Ice Formations
You can explore illuminated ice castles in Lake Geneva with a frozen landscape made from over 10,000 icicles formed into caves, fountains, slides, crawl spaces, and other formations.
Head to Mirror Lake State Park in Wisconsin Dells to see the ice formations at Fern Dell Gorge. Once the gorge fills with snow and everything freezes, colorful ice floes start to form, creating walls of ice 10 feet tall.
