The United States Department of Education designates some schools "Blue Ribbon schools." The award honors public and private elementary and high schools whose students perform at very high levels as measured by state assessments – or they are schools with at least 40% of their students from disadvantaged backgrounds that improve student performance to high levels.
Across the country, 304 schools received the award this year.
Eight of the 2010 Blue Ribbon Schools are from Wisconsin and here they are:
Allenton Elementary, Allenton WI
Brompton School, Kenosha, WI
Cornell Elementary, Cornell, WI
Lincoln Elementary, Beaver Dam, WI
Oakfield Elementary, Oakfield, WI
Section Elementary, Mukwonago, WI
Westlawn Elementary, Cedarburg, WI
Wilson Elementary, Neenah, WI
Congratulations to all!
