There used to be a time when putting a for sale sign up was about all it took to sell a property. It was a seller’s market. However, those times are over. We can longer hit the snooze button. The alarm has went off and it’s time to wake up.
In today’s market, in order to help sellers, we work to keep them informed. They need to know the facts about the market. Where it was, where it is, and where it’s heading. We’re currently in a market where time is more valuable than ever. Realtors cannot waste time.
Another way to help sellers in today’s market, is to make sure that there is a good product being put on the market. Addressing repair issues or having a home inspection on file by the time the property is listed will only benefit sellers in the long run.
Finally, and probably most important is HONESTY. Maybe it’s making sellers aware that they are going to be taking a loss on a sale or informing them that we cannot be of any assistance to them and need to refer them elsewhere. In any case, they need to know the truth.
