Could this be what we all have been waiting for? Several counties in Wisconsin had increases in sales with just minor or no decrease in sales price. These counties include Grant and Lafayette in South Central Wisconsin; Pierce County in the West; and Calumet and Shawano in the North East.
Also, public opionion is mostly favorable: 65% of women believe now is a good time to buy a house and 70% of men do.
Some of the factors that would increase the liklihood of buying a home were:
Significant increase in take home pay (well, that would help a lot of things, wouldn’t it…)
Lower interest rates
Leaders of the Wisconsin Realtors Association expect a soft 4th quarter 2008 and similar for the first part of 2009.
