Eight Wisconsin high schools make Newsweek Best High School list

When buying a home, good schools can be a benefit at resale, and they are also important, of course, when you are buying with the school-age children in mind. Eight Wisconsin public high schools made Newsweek’s best high school list. 500 schools were ranked.

First on the Wisconsin list is:

Brookfield Central in Waukesha county came in at #174. Brookfield Central is in the Elmbrook school district which encompasses the City of Brookfield, Village of Elm Grove and parts of the Town of Brookfield and City of New Berlin. Go Lancers! (my alma mater)

Mequon’s Homestead High School is #205. It is in the Mequon-Theinsville school district and accordingly serves Mequon and Theinsville in Ozaukee County, WI.

Cedarburg High School is #258 and the district serves the City and Town of CedarburgCedarburg’s historic downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places. Cedarburg is also in Ozaukee County.

New Berlin West High School  is #325 and is in the New Berlin school district, serving New Berlin, WI in Western Waukesha County.

Wauwatosa East is #379 and serves Wauwatosa school district in Western Milwaukee County. By the way, if you don’t know how to pronounce that, it is "Wa Wa toe’ suh"

New Berlin Eisenhower is #414. New Berlin is centrally located in Waukesha County with easy access to downtown Milwaukee.

Pewaukee High School in the Pewaukee school district is #435. Pewaukee itself has been named a Best place to live numerous times.

Waukesha West High School in the Waukesha school district serving the City and Town of Waukesha in Waukesha County is #491. Waukesha West won its 10th straight academic decathalon this year. In case you are new to Wisconsin, it is pronounced "Walk’ e shaw".
