Slideshow of life in Wausau, Wisconsin : small-town feel with international appeal

September 1, 2011

This collection of photos does a nice job of painting a picture of life in Wausau, Wisconsin.  Compliments of Mike & Ron Zahrt, First Weber Wausau – Grand Ave.     (And Dan Paul, former Wausau resident)

Enjoy the show!  Do you have a favorite photo in the video? What about the whitewater kayaks  and the deer shoulder-deep in snow?

Wausau has a lot to offer its visitors and residents – a small town feel, parks, arts, historic downtown, affordable housing,  great skiing plus international canoeing and kayaking events at Whitewater Park on the Wisconsin River!

Wausau will host the Junior Canoe Slalom World Championship at Whitewater Park next July. The event is expected to bring almost $2 million dollars into the Wausau economy.  Wausau’s bid for the games beat competing packages from Brazil and Slovakia.  Impressive.

Wausau’s Whitewater Park is a world class resource in the heart of downtown for everyone to enjoy.  Compete, volunteer or sit back and watch the competitions – maybe take a training camp or clinic. Have a bite to eat as you sit on the banks of the river. To see what kind of paddling Whitewater Park offers, watch the video on WausauWhitewater.org website.  WOW.  If you’d like to witness these races first hand with a visit to Wausau, check out WausauWhitewater.org’s list of upcoming events.
