Is your Wisconsin real estate agent working for you?

Is Your Agent Working for You?

I just got off the phone with another agent from a different brokerage. I have a tour scheduled with some buyers and one of the homes we will be seeing is listed with his particular brokerage. He was looking at the list of showings that have been scheduled recently for his brokerage’s listings and noticed that I had scheduled a showing for a certain home. He called me because he wanted to inform me of another listing on the same street that just came on the market in the past day or so and it is similar, at least in bedroom and bathroom count, to the home that we will be seeing. He wanted to know if I wanted to add that home to my showing tour. I had to decline showing that home because that particular home is not in the style that my buyers prefer but I thanked him for letting me know about the new listing.

That agent is doing his sellers a great service. If you have or will have your home listed by a full service brokerage, such as my own, you are probably expecting more from your agent. Working the scheduled showings list and calling agents to try to get an additional showing on their listing is fantastic service and is another reason why a full service brokerage is worth the commission. If your real estate agent is not providing you with this level of service, maybe you should consider switching agents when the listing contract expires.
