Metro Milwaukee real estate update, May 2013

Metro Milwaukee real estate continues to be strong and recently has seen an increase in new listings – which was needed!  However, we are still dealing with an inventory of homes for sale that is hundreds less than in year’s passed at this time. Sellers who have been waiting now have a good opportunity to jump on all the buyer activity and the rising prices we are seeing.   Contact any First Weber agent to begin the listing process and/or find out what your home is worth.

All Metro Milwaukee area counties had a great month of home sales!

Here’s a look at sales by County in the Milwaukee area (source Metro MLS)

Milwaukee County home sales

May 2013: 985 vs May 2012: 875. A 12.6% increase.

Waukesha County home sales

May 2013: 542 vs May 2012: 493. A 9.9% increase.

Ozaukee County home sales

May 2013: 123 vs May 2012: 100. A 23% decrease.

Washington County home sales

May 2013: 188 vs May 2012: 134. A 40% increase.

 Racine County home sales

May 2013: 227 vs May 2012: 195. A 16.4% decrease.

It is time to get your home on the market. Buyers are out now.  One of our agents did a great post: for buyers, spring is RIGHT NOW.  See real estate for sale all over Wisconsin at firstweber.com.  Now could be the best time to list and maybe move up.  Interest rates remain great, but they are predicted to be over 4% soon.
