What are you looking for? Narrow it down.
You’ll save time if you have a good idea what you are looking for. A condo or a single family home? One story or two? Which county? And in that county, which communities are a good fit? You can get research information on hundreds of communities across Wisconsin, including schools and neighborhood amenities like nearby retail, parks and recreation, right here: Wisconsin community information. In terms of home features, decide on what is important to you and what features would be nice to have, but you could live without.
Choose your favorite websites and apps

Attend open Houses and request private showings
Open houses are a great way to get a feel for the home and the neighborhood. But, you don’t have to wait for an open house. Make an appointment with your real estate agent. (Exceptions may be listings with Limited Service Brokers in which the seller often handles their own showings.)
Be prepared to make an offer when you find “the one”
This is where things get kind of complicated. The legal documents, the negotiations, deadlines…sign here and here and here.
