Wisconsin Real Estate Report – July 2020

August 18, 2020

Wisconsin home sales hit a new record for the month of July! The number of home sales in July 2020 was 9,649, which was an increase of 7.6% compared to July 2019. Statewide listings were down 24.7% to 26,814 while the median single-family home price rose 10.4% to $226,400. Houses were on the market a little longer this July compared to last July. On average, homes are on the market for 91 days, which is 5.8% longer than July of 2019.

July’s record home sales are due to the record low mortgage rates we are seeing, according to WRA President and CEO Michael Theo. The month of July was the fourth consecutive month of 30-year fixed mortgage rates hitting a new record low.
