First Weber Foundation Announces Fundraising Week April 25th – 29th

April 21, 2022

The First Weber Foundation will hold a week-long fundraiser April 25-29 called “First Weber Cares.” The fundraiser will help bolster the Foundation’s funds, which are facing pressure from increased demand.

The Foundation is the charitable arm of First Weber Inc. and was incorporated in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to expand First Weber’s commitment to strengthen communities through charitable contributions and volunteer leadership. Since that time, the Foundation has contributed more than $3.6 million to almost 1,000 organizations, mostly in Wisconsin.

First Weber Cares is a week-long fundraising event April 25-29, 2022, for the First Weber Foundation.

The goal of the Fundraising Week is to help agents and staff make a deeper impact on the growing hardships that non-profits are facing, especially in light of the two-year pandemic, rising cost and rarity of goods, and inflation. These non-profits help reduce the fear, suffering and isolation of members of the communities where First Weber agents and staff live and work. To be able to give more to non-profits, the Foundation must raise more money.

The week of April 25-29, 2022, will focus on the various ways that Foundation contributions touch so many lives, in so many ways.

The Foundation has three giving programs, all of which have been in place and heavily used on a regular basis. In 2021, the Foundation contributed more than $275,000 between it’s Direct Giving Program Sponsorships, Group Giving Events, and Matching Gifts. Many groups that the Foundation supported in 2021 have come to rely on the Foundation for continued support from First Weber agents and staff, and the Foundation wishes to be seen as a resource to non-profits in times of need, even if it is just one crisis at a time.

Already this year, the Foundation has donated more than $100,000, including $31,913.06 collected by the Foundation during a state-side fundraiser for UNICEF’s Ukraine Emergency Response team.

There are many non-profit organizations that seek to provide basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, home furnishings, heat, and medical care. Other organizations who received donations from the Foundation in 2021 also included domestic abuse and sexual assault shelters, medical research, the arts and our natural resources – a cherished part of the Wisconsin landscape.

As the week goes on, the Foundation will showcase some First Weber agents and staff who regularly use the Foundation and their ‘why,’ details on a new program to recognize volunteers, stories from non-profits themselves on how the First Weber Foundation has impacted them and the people they serve, and a breakdown of the Foundation’s giving programs.

Tammy Maddente, President of First Weber and of the First Weber Foundation Board of Directors, added her thanks to the staff and agents who have supported the Foundation since it’s inception. “Thank you,” said Maddente. “Your contributions and energy have taken the Foundation to where it is today.” The Foundation will be accepting one-time gifts as well as encouraging First Weber agents and staff to consider the effect their giving to the Foundation would make in their neighborhoods and towns.
