Wisconsin Real Estate Report – April 2022

Homes continued to fly off the market in April 2022! Statewide listings were down 11.7% to 18,131 while the median single-family home price rose 13.0% to $265,501. In April 2022 there were 6,124 homes sold, which was a decrease of 14.8% compared to April 2021. Homes continue to sell quicker including this last April. On average, homes are on the market for 69 days, which is 18.8% less time than April of 2021.

Inventory has remained low, especially compared to the previous year. Not only is inventory down, but housing affordability is also as well. According to Michael Theo, President & CEO, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, “the inflation-induced increases in mortgage rates have driven affordability down, and that is likely to moderate sales going into our peak summer sales market.”
