The First Weber Rhinelander Office hosted a pulled pork lunch fundraiser on September 15th to benefit the Northwoods Veterans Homestead, raising over $1800. The First Weber Foundation will match the donations (up to $2,500) for the event.
The Northwoods Veteran Homestead is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping Wisconsin’s homeless veterans.
The event was featured on their local NBC news affiliate, during which Northwoods Veterans Homestead representative Gordy Edington explained, “90% of homeless veterans in the state of Wisconsin are normally north of Highway 29 and there is nobody up here that does this so this is a challenge for us.”
Agent Todd Johnson said, “I think this is very important and I think across the board it made us feel good that we can give back and help the community.”
