Year over year residential real estate sales were down slightly in all counties as 2014 came to a close, yet average sales prices were up across the board. December was a very strong month – we saw the best December sales since 2005! Here’s a look at sales by County in the Milwaukee area (source Metro MLS)
Milwaukee County home sales
9319 Milwaukee County home sales in 2014 vs 9591 in 2013. A decrease of 2.8% Average sales price up 6% to $149,607
Waukesha County home sales
5054 Waukesha County home sales in 2014 vs 5124 in 2013. A decrease of 1.4% Average sales price up 2% to $282,760
Ozaukee County home sales
1142 Ozaukee County home sales in 2014 vs 1197 in 2013. A decrease of 4.6% Average sales price up 1% to $284,239
Washington County home sales
1632 Washington County home sales in 2014 vs 1719 in 2013. A decrease of 5.1% Average sales price up 2% to $206,103
Racine County home sales
2185 Washington County home sales in 2014 vs 2236 in 2013. A decrease of 2.3%
Agents and brokers enjoyed a more “normal” market in 2014 with short sales and distressed property sales falling and the usual first time buyers, move up buyers and downsizing buyers increasing. That is a very good step.
