Wisconsin residents may find long forgotten money

July 12, 2007

Finding a crumpled twenty dollar bill in an old coat I haven’t worn since last summer makes me happy. (OK, I am easy to please, or is it just that Wisconsin people tend to be cost conscious and twenty bucks is twenty bucks?)

So imagine my delight when I stumbled on this great search tool called Badger Bucks at the Wisconsin State Treasurer’s web site. This great government service allows Wisconsin residents to search by their name to see if the Unclaimed Property Department might have something that belongs to them, but is long forgotten.

Give it a try and let us know if you get lucky!
