Metro Milwaukee real estate sales in November remain very strong

Milwaukee real estate statistics Nov 20122

Metro Milwaukee real estate sales are very strong this fall. November sales are up 24% over last November with 1202 residential sales in the Milwaukee area,  and a whopping 54% over November 2010 when just 779 homes sold.  It is a wonderful feeling to head into the new year with such strong sales numbers.  The Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors predicts year end sales should top 15,000 units, possible 16,000.  The significance of this is great: the last time the Milwaukee real estate market saw more than 16,000 units sold in a year was 2007, the beginning of the real estate recession.

 Here’s a look by County:

Milwaukee County real estate sales:

Sales up 15.1%. 634 sold in Nov. 2012 vs 551 sold in Nov. 2011

Waukesha County real estate sales:

Sales up 43.2%. 358 sold in Nov. 2012 vs 250 sold in Nov. 2011

Ozaukee County real estate sales:

Sales up 38.8%. 93 sold in Nov. 2012 vs 67 sold in Nov. 2011

Washington County real estate sales:

Sales up 14%. 114 sold in Nov. 2012 vs 100 sold in Nov. 2011

Racine County real estate sales:

Sales up 26.9%. 170 sold in Nov. 2012 vs 134 sold in Nov. 2011

Rates remain very low making buying a home very attractive for those that are thinking about it.  The listing inventory is shrinking and there is less for buyers to choose from, but still a nice selection at good prices.  To begin your search for a home in the Milwaukee area, please start with firstweber.com.  If you need to find a real estate agent to help you with buyer agency, you can search for a First Weber real estate agent to help you.  If you are interested in selling your home, First Weber can help there, too.
