Wisconsin Real Estate Report – August 2020

Wisconsin home sales hit a new record for the month of August! The number of home sales in August 2020 was 9,324, which was an increase of 0.7% compared to August 2019. Statewide listings were down 24.9% to 26,498 while the median single-family home price rose 14.1% to $235,000. Houses were on the market a little longer this August compared to last August. On average, homes are on the market for 88 days, which is 3.5% longer than August of 2019.

Summer home sales volume was a record high for the state with 27,795 in total sales. Not only was there a record number of sales, mortgage rates also hit a new record low for the fifth straight month, which has caused the housing demand.
