Wisconsin Real Estate Report – December 2020

January 20, 2021

Wisconsin home sales were looking strong once again in the month of December! The number of home sales in December 2020 was 7,117, which was an increase of 22.5% compared to December 2019. Statewide listings were down 34.5% to 16,114 while the median single-family home price rose 9.7% to $215,000. Houses sold quicker this December compared to last December. On average, homes are on the market for 85 days, which is 10.5% less time than December of 2019.

Wisconsin’s housing market closes out the year with another strong month in sales. The rise in home sales is having an impact on inventory levels, which is resulting in higher home prices. Luckily, mortgage rates are still low, which will make a home purchase more affordable.
