How to Create Good Vibes in Your Home

January 12, 2021

Everything in our homes from the colors, textures, sounds, etc. can make us feel some type of way. All of those things factor into how we feel and live our daily lives. Given how much time we spend in our homes, it’s more important now than ever to create a home that makes us feel good. Luckily, there are so many ways we can create good vibes in our homes and it’s a lot simpler than you may think.

Clear Your Mind by Clearing Clutter

Clothes laying over chairs, toys or shoes laid out all over the floor, dirty dishes in the sink; all of these things add to higher levels of stress than we realize. The best way to start changing the feel of your home is to declutter and keep things organized. Setting a standard in your home and giving everything a place will help your family stay organized and help you feel better about the spaces you live in.

Lighting

Lighting is everything. That’s why you need to make a point each day to make sure to light up your home. Opening our blinds to let in as much natural light as possible can dramatically change your mood. If your home doesn’t get a ton of natural light you can add lights such as a Himalayan salt lamp to your home. These lamps have become increasingly popular and have been proven to boost energy levels.

Rugs

Sick of your boring old floor but don’t want to spend the money to replace your flooring? Throwing an area rug down is an easy fix! A nice rug can change up the entire vibe of a room. Soft surfaces also help us feel cozier at home, which will make you feel more relaxed.

Art

The colors we have in our home can also have a large impact on how we feel. You don’t need to paint the walls to incorporate colors that tend to make us happier. Hanging up art around the home is a great way to add different colors to our living spaces. Hanging art that resonates with you will also have a positive influence on your mood.

Let Nature In

Enjoying nature is one of the easiest ways to boost our spirits. During warmer months we can crack open the windows to let fresh air in and take a look at all of the green surrounding our homes. During winter months in Wisconsin, we aren’t able to open our windows and the nature outside is covered in white snow. Placing house plants and flowers throughout our homes can give us the closest thing to nature inside of our homes.
